Why We Choose Fresh Goat Milk for Our Soap
If you've ever shopped for goat milk soap, you've probably noticed that many brands highlight "made with goat milk." But here's a question that doesn't get asked very often:
Where does the goat milk come from?
The answer may be different from one maker to the next.
At Brookshire Acres, every bar of soap we make begins withΒ fresh goat milk from our own herd of Nubian goatsΒ here on our Texas farm. It's a choice we've made from the very beginning because we believe there's something special about starting with fresh ingredients whenever we can.
Curious what fresh goat milk soap actually feels like? These are the bars our customers keep coming back for.Β
There Are Different Ways to Make Goat Milk Soap
Not all goat milk soap is made the same way and that's okay.
Some soap makers use fresh goat milk. Others use powdered or freeze-dried goat milk. Each method has its own advantages depending on the maker, their process, and what ingredients they have access to.
For us, using fresh goat milk simply makes sense because we have our own dairy goats. Since the milk is available right here on our farm, we choose to use it fresh in every batch we make.
It's a decision based on our values and the way we want to make our products.
Why We Choose Fresh Goat Milk
Using fresh goat milk isn't the easiest option.
Our day starts with caring for our goats before we ever step into the soap room. Every batch begins long before oils are measured or molds are filled.
By using fresh milk from our own herd, we know exactly where one of our most important ingredients comes from.
That connection, from caring for our goats to crafting each bar, is something we're proud of.
Small Batches, Made with Care
After the fresh goat milk is collected, we carefully make each batch of cold process soap by hand in small quantities.
This slower approach allows us to focus on consistency and craftsmanship rather than mass production.
Each bar is poured by hand, finished by hand, and then cured for approximately six weeks before it's ready to use.
It's not the fastest way to make soap, but we believe good things are worth waiting for.
Why We Think It Matters
When you're shopping for goat milk soap, the ingredient list only tells part of the story.
Learning about the person making the soap, where the ingredients come from, and how the products are crafted can tell you even more.
That's why we encourage people to ask questions.
- Where does the goat milk come from?
- Is the soap made in small batches?
- Who is making it?
- What matters most to that business?
- Those answers help paint a much bigger picture than a label ever could.
From Our Farm to Your Family
Brookshire Acres was built on the idea that quality starts long before a product reaches your home.
For us, that means caring for our goats, choosing ingredients thoughtfully, making products in small batches, and being transparent about how everything is made.
We're grateful that so many families have chosen to support our little farm, and we never take that trust for granted.
If you'd like to experience our handcrafted goat milk soap for yourself, we'd love to welcome you.
Every bar we make starts with fresh goat milk from our own farm. No powdered shortcuts β just the real thing, in small batches, made with care.Β
